According to the law, a new repatriate has the right to drive a car in Israel with a driving license from the country of origin for no more than 12 months (counting from the moment of entry into Israel as a new new repatriate). Then they must have an Israeli license.
For the repatriates whose driving experience is 5 (five) years or more at the time of entry to Israel on a repatriate visa, it is possible to convert their driving license from the country of origin using a simplified procedure. It can be done only during the first year of stay in the country.
Categories “A1”, “A2”, “A3” (driving a motorcycle), category “B” (driving a vehicle weighing up to 3.5 tons), and category type 1 (driving a tractor).
The validity period of new Israeli driving license currently varies from 30 to 50 years. The Israeli driving license is issued for a period of 5 years after passing the age of 70 and for a period of 2 years after passing the age of 80.
