Every Israeli, including new repatriates, must have a biometric identification card – Teudat Zehut. It is an internal passport of an Israeli citizen which is issued upon reaching the age of 16.

  1. Make an appointment with the office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Israel on the date and time convenient to you.
  2. Check all the documents that the new repatriate must provide to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to confirm the right to citizenship.
  3. Give recommendations on the package of documents provided (originals, copies, apostilles, etc.).
  4. Escort you to the office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and submit documents for issuing a biometric identity card. All you need to do is sign the forms and submit your biometric data.

At Ben-Gurion Airport, immediately upon arrival, each new repatriate and members of his family receive temporary certificates which must be replaced with permanent ones with a validity period of 10 (ten) years.

Attention!

The Population and Immigration Authority has the right to refuse to grant citizenship to new repatriates and to request any additional documents confirming the right to repatriation, despite the previous decision of the consul.

The consul makes a recommendation but the officer of the Population Administration of the Population and Immigration Authority makes the final decision on the issuance of Israeli citizenship!
